With 'Neuro Linguistic Programming', (NLP) there is no one way to describe what it is and what it does. It can be applied
to almost any aspect of ourselves whether on a personal or professional level. Essentially it deals with how we interact and function with the outside world and
our awareness of it. That said I will give you some background into how it came about and describe what NLP stands for.
Broken down the meaning of NLP is as follows -
N - Neuro - The mind and how we think
L - Linguistic - How we use language and how it affects us
P - Programming - How we sequence our actions to achieve our goals
NLP Was Born
NLP was first conceived back in the 1970's and started out as research into brilliance and quality and how
outstanding individuals and organisations got their results. The methods gained from this research were tried and
tested to ensure it was consistently effective enough to be taught to others. From this the underlying process of
modeling was formed and NLP was born.
Excellence & Success
It has since grown to incorporate many different areas involving the tools and techniques derived from the
initial research. NLP is essentially a means to excel ourselves and succeed in all spheres of life and
is used worldwide for sports, education, business etc.
